Roman Gonzales III, Vice President, National &Homeland Security, is a senior Aerospace Business Development Leader and retired U.S. Navy Captain who has a history of leading successful capture teams to achieve significant growth and market presence. His effectiveness stems from a keen understanding of customer requirements coupled with strong customer interface skills.
Roman’s Naval Career combined active and reserve duty and he served aboard the USS Reeves (CG-24), USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20) and USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19). On shore duty, he held Command of three different units and was Executive Officer for two units. He was designated as an IUSS (Integrated Undersea Surveillance System) Specialist.
Roman has a wide breath of domestic and international management and business development experience. Previously, he has worked for Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Harris with increasing levels of responsibilities in the areas of space sensors and EW to radar and weapon systems. Key customers have been the Navy, Air Force, NASA, NOAA and the FAA, along with key international customers in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Netherlands, Norway, Croatia, Japan, and Taiwan.
Roman served as an appointee during the George H. W. Bush Administration on the Sensor Technical Advisory Committee, Department of Commerce, and the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, Board of Visitors, Department of Defense.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University (Industrial Distribution) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Guam. Additionally, he completed an Executive Marketing Course at UCLA.
